My career as an interior designer started in an unofficial way when my husband and I bought our first home. Though the house was custom and well-built, it was in need of a complete over-haul. The floor plan was outdated and so were the finishes. I spent a lot of time thinking, and even dreaming about how we could change our house to fit our family’s needs. Coincidently, it was during this time that in a serendipitous way, I was introduced to interior design.
Even after 20 years of practicing my craft, I still love what I do. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the transformation of space, or the development of new space, and how it improves the quality of life for those who live, work, and play in it. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from California State University, Chico, and have since become an instructor of design. I enjoy meeting, teaching, and mentoring other designers.
