What type of ASID membership do I apply for?
INDIVIDUALS
Practitioner
ASID Practitioners qualify for membership based on their education, experience, and examination.
- Professional Practitioners have successfully passed the NCIDQ Exam, ARE, or ASID-approved equivalent examination.
- Allied Practitioners have successfully completed a degree with a major in interior design or architecture.
- Associate Practitioners have a degree in another major and six years of documented full time interior design practice.
Educator Member
Educator members include faculty or staff within an interior design program at a higher education institution. If an educator qualifies as an individual Professional, Allied, or Associate Practitioner, they can join ASID as a Practitioner member and still receive an educator dues discount.
Student Member
Student members include those pursuing associates, bachelors, or masters degrees in interior design.
Affiliate Member
Affiliate members include manufacturer’s reps, contractors and installers, consultants and strategists, facility managers, real estate professionals, and more. Affiliate members are individuals, other than Practitioner, Educator, or Student, that support the profession of interior design and do not otherwise qualify for any other Individual member category.
ORGANIZATIONS
Industry Partner
Industry Partners include manufacturers, suppliers, and resource providers.
Firm Partner
Firm Partners focus their businesses on providing interior design professional services.
Higher Education Partner
Higher Education Partners are any institution, such as a college or university campus, that offers an interior design degree program and wants to provide ASID benefits and resources to their students, faculty, and staff.
Affiliate
Affiliate Partners are any organization, other than Company, Firm, or Higher Education Institution, that supports the profession of interior design. All aspects of an Affiliate Partner’s business must be in accordance with the Society’s purpose and strategic guideposts. Affiliate Partner must not qualify for membership under any other Organization category.

Renew Your Membership
To renew your membership, login to your ASID account and access the My Membership menu. From there, you can pay your dues online or print a copy of your invoice.
Reinstate Your Membership
If you dropped your ASID membership less than five (5) years ago, you can reinstate without re-submitting documentation.
